MaX stands for Multi-adaptive Xperience, and it's Signia's newest platform. The argument behind it is worth understanding before you look at a price tag: most hearing aids apply artificial intelligence to a single job, noise reduction. That makes a noisy room quieter, but quieter isn't the same as easier to follow — strip out too much and you lose the sense of a room, along with the voices at the far end of the table.
Signia's approach with MaX is to run four separate neural networks at the same time, each trained on a different dimension of sound, sharing information continuously. The target is group conversation in noise — restaurants, family gatherings, committee meetings, fellowship hall after a service. That's the situation nearly every patient names first when we ask where they struggle.

Signia calls the combined system Acoustic Intelligence. Here's what each of the four parts is actually doing while you're wearing them.
Speech detection
Finds and enhances more than one conversation partner at a time in a moving group conversation, rather than locking onto whoever is directly in front of you. Signia reports it processes 75% more data points per second than the previous Signia IX platform.
Own voice detection
Your own voice sounds wrong through a hearing aid to almost everyone at first. MaX recognizes it and processes it separately — and unlike earlier Signia systems, it does so without a calibration step in the clinic.
Scene analysis
Instead of sorting your surroundings into a handful of fixed programs, it reads several characteristics of the environment continuously and shifts as the room changes around you.
Noise processing
Considers what the noise is, where it's coming from, and whether you're in a conversation at that moment — then decides how hard to work. Noise during a conversation and noise while you're alone are different problems.
All four run on a new chip that Signia reports carries 54 times the processing power and twice the memory of its previous generation, with better energy efficiency so the processing can stay on all day.
Worth knowing before you shop: every performance number Signia publishes for MaX — the wearer-preference figures, the signal-to-noise ranking, the chip comparisons — comes from Signia's own white papers or from internal comparison against its previous platform. No independent laboratory has measured MaX yet, and Signia hasn't published a price. That doesn't mean the claims are wrong. It means they're manufacturer claims, and you should weigh them as such — which is a thing we'd rather tell you than have you find out later.
The platform matters less than the verification
This is the part brand pages leave out. A brand-new premium hearing aid running on manufacturer default settings will frequently underperform a mid-tier device that has been measured and adjusted to the prescription your specific hearing loss calls for. Ear canals differ in size and shape, and those differences change what actually reaches the eardrum.

Connectivity has been a headache for you. OneConnect covers Bluetooth Classic and LE Audio in one device, which matters if you've switched phones or have an older handset that other hearing aids won't stream from.
Your listening is mostly quiet — home, one-on-one, television. A previous generation device, properly verified, will often serve you just as well for meaningfully less money.
You need a custom in-the-ear or a behind-the-ear style, or you're buying primarily for Auracast in public venues. In both cases, waiting or choosing a different platform is the honest advice.

What styles does Signia MaX come in?
One at launch: the Pure Charge&Go MaX, a rechargeable receiver-in-canal device available in eight colors. There is no custom in-the-ear or standard behind-the-ear MaX yet. If one of those is what your hearing loss calls for, we'll look at the Signia IX range or another manufacturer.
How long does the Signia MaX battery last?
It ships with a portable charger that holds up to four full charges, so you can top up away from an outlet. A full charge takes about four hours, and 30 minutes of charging gives roughly six hours of use. As with any rechargeable hearing aid, real-world runtime depends on how much you stream, how much amplification your loss requires, and the age of the battery.
Does Signia MaX work with Auracast?
The hardware supports it, but not yet in practice. Signia has said full Auracast functionality will be enabled through a firmware update in the Signia One app by March 2027. If broadcast audio in theaters, airports and public venues is a main reason you're interested, that timeline is worth factoring into your decision — we'd rather say so now than have you wonder why it isn't working.
Will Signia MaX stream to my phone?
Most likely, yes. Signia's OneConnect technology puts Bluetooth Classic and LE Audio in the same device, which means streaming isn't limited to newer iPhones or specific Android models the way it has been with some hearing aids. Bring your phone to your appointment and we'll confirm it before you order anything.
How much do Signia MaX hearing aids cost?
Signia hasn't published pricing, and any number you see online right now is a guess. Call us and we'll give you real figures for your situation, including what your insurance covers — Christine verifies benefits before your appointment so you aren't surprised.
Can I try Signia MaX before committing?
Yes. Pennsylvania law requires every hearing aid sold in the
Commonwealth to come with a 30-day money-back guarantee, counted from the day your
devices are delivered. Return them in the same condition within that window and
you're entitled to a refund of the purchase price as itemized on your receipt. We'll
go through the written guarantee with you beforehand.
Our advice: give them three or four weeks and come in for at least one adjustment
before deciding. New hearing aids sound strange to nearly everyone at first, and most
